Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Power and Utilities to join our dynamic team in Kuwait. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure projects, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and critical utility installations. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of power systems engineering principles, relevant industry standards, and best practices. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our electrical infrastructure projects from concept to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and approve electrical system layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams for power and utility projects.
- Conduct power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
- Specify, evaluate, and select electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, generators, and control systems.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for complex power systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, specifications, and reports for all electrical engineering activities.
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations adhere to international standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA) and local regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical aspects of projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in power systems engineering, specifically in generation, transmission, or distribution.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, PSS/E).
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC).
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with SCADA systems and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with renewable energy integration into traditional grids.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
