Job Description
Julius Berger Nigeria Plc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Engineer to join our team in Ibadan, Oyo State. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a leading construction firm. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and project managers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in all aspects of civil works projects. The role involves contributing to the planning, execution, and monitoring of various construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position is based primarily in Ibadan but may require occasional travel to other project sites within Oyo State.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Monitor project progress and report on any deviations from the plan.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.
- Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to coordinate project activities.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to the project manager.
- Assist in the management of project documentation and records.
- Conduct site inspections and report on any issues or concerns.
- Contribute to the resolution of any technical or logistical problems that arise during project execution.
- Support the project team in achieving project goals and objectives.
- Participate in regular project meetings and contribute to constructive discussions.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities and expenses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the project manager.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in a civil engineering role (Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
