  • Provide expert advice and guidance to business stakeholders on compliance obligations, risk mitigation strategies, and best practices.
  • Prepare and present detailed compliance reports, risk metrics, and actionable recommendations to senior management and relevant committees.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of compliance breaches and incidents, ensuring appropriate remediation actions are taken.
  • Support the development and delivery of engaging compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal audit, legal, and other assurance functions to ensure integrated and holistic risk management.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities for process improvements within the compliance function.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in a risk, compliance, or regulatory role within the Australian financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial services legislation, including but not limited to the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, and APRA Prudential Standards.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into clear, actionable business requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and experience with implementing control frameworks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and articulate complex information effectively to all levels of the organisation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management, Compliance, or Law.
  • Professional certifications such as GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) or ICA (International Compliance Association).
  • Experience with GRC software solutions and data analytics for risk reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of superannuation, wealth management, or banking products and services.
