Accenture Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our dynamic Technology Services team in Sydney. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust disaster recovery (DR) plans and strategies for our diverse client portfolio. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive IT Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and strategies for client environments.
- Conduct business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to identify critical systems and define recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
- Design, test, and validate DR solutions, including failover procedures, data replication, and backup strategies across various platforms (on-premise, cloud, hybrid).
- Coordinate and facilitate regular DR drills and exercises, documenting results and identifying areas for improvement.
- Lead incident response efforts during actual disaster events, ensuring swift and effective recovery of IT services.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation to clients on DR best practices, regulatory compliance, and resilience strategies.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to integrate DR requirements into new and existing systems.
- Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams and client personnel on DR procedures and protocols.
- Stay current with emerging DR technologies, industry trends, and cybersecurity threats to continuously enhance DR capabilities.
- Document all DR plans, procedures, test results, and post-incident reports meticulously.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, databases).
- Experience with cloud-based DR solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in backup and recovery technologies and strategies.
- Familiarity with business continuity management (BCM) principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
