Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic Global Information Security team at Barclays. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of protecting our global operations, customers, and data from advanced cyber threats. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating actionable threat intelligence to various stakeholders across the organization. This involves monitoring the evolving threat landscape, identifying emerging attack vectors, and providing timely insights that enable our defensive capabilities to adapt and preempt potential breaches.
Your day-to-day will involve deep dives into threat actor Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), evaluating their potential impact on Barclays, and working closely with our security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management teams. You will contribute to the development of robust detection strategies, enhance our security posture, and inform strategic decisions to mitigate cyber risks effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze raw threat data from various internal and external sources to produce actionable intelligence.
- Monitor global cyber threat landscape, including geopolitical events, criminal activities, and emerging vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain threat actor profiles, TTPs, and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
- Produce regular threat intelligence reports, briefings, and alerts for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, and other security teams to integrate threat intelligence into detection and prevention strategies.
- Assist in the development and refinement of threat hunting queries and use cases based on intelligence findings.
- Participate in incident response activities by providing contextual threat intelligence during active investigations.
- Evaluate and recommend new threat intelligence sources, tools, and platforms.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of cyber threat intelligence principles, frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK), and methodologies.
- Proficiency in threat analysis tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, TIPs).
- Experience with various intelligence sources (open-source, commercial feeds, dark web).
- Knowledge of common attack techniques, malware families, and adversary TTPs.
- Familiarity with network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., GCTI, CySA+, CEH, CISSP).
- Experience in financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis and automation.
- Understanding of geopolitical factors influencing the cyber threat landscape.
