Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for science and improving patient outcomes? AstraZeneca is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmaceutical Sales Representative to join our dynamic commercial team in the Great Britain region, based out of Cambridge. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building strong, lasting relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) across a defined territory, promoting AstraZeneca’s innovative portfolio of medicines. You will serve as a key ambassador for our brand, delivering compelling and scientifically accurate presentations on our products to clinicians, specialists, and other decision-makers within the NHS and private healthcare sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify market opportunities, understand the evolving healthcare landscape, and tailor engagement strategies to meet the unique needs of your accounts. You will be instrumental in increasing brand awareness and driving the adoption of our treatments, ultimately ensuring that more patients benefit from our life-changing medicines. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of pharmaceutical sales principles, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practices and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals, including prescribers, pharmacists, and formulary decision-makers.
  • Conduct engaging and informative product presentations to individuals and groups of HCPs, highlighting key clinical data and patient benefits.
  • Regularly gather and analyse market intelligence, including competitor activities and healthcare trends, to inform sales strategies.
  • Ensure all promotional activities adhere strictly to the ABPI Code of Practice, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with medical, marketing, and market access teams to leverage resources and maximise business opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain accurate customer records and sales activities within the CRM system.
  • Attend industry conferences, training sessions, and company meetings as required.
  • Provide clinical and scientific support to HCPs, responding to inquiries about AstraZeneca products.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales or a related medical sales field (minimum 2 years).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Sound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the NHS landscape.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex scientific data accurately and clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field.
  • ABPI (Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry) qualification.
  • Previous experience selling products in Oncology, CVRM, or Respiratory & Immunology therapy areas.
  • Experience with territory management and strategic account planning.
