Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Humanitarian Aid Coordinator to join our headquarters team in Seoul, Korea. This pivotal role will be instrumental in supporting and strengthening our global humanitarian aid initiatives, ensuring effective and efficient program delivery in line with Good Neighbors’ strategic objectives and international humanitarian standards. The Coordinator will work closely with various departments, including program development, finance, and field operations, to facilitate seamless coordination and communication. Key responsibilities include supporting the full project cycle management from proposal development to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, particularly for emergency response and long-term development projects in fragile contexts. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of humanitarian principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will contribute to developing robust systems and processes that enhance our capacity to respond to crises and build resilience within vulnerable communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the full project cycle management (PCM) for humanitarian and development projects, from needs assessment and proposal development to implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Liaise with country offices and partners to ensure timely and effective program implementation, adherence to project plans, and compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial reports, ensuring financial accountability and effective resource utilization.
  • Facilitate communication and information flow between HQ departments, country offices, and external stakeholders, including donors and UN agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of funding proposals, concept notes, and reports for various institutional and private donors.
  • Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact.
  • Participate in the development and review of humanitarian strategies, policies, and guidelines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field teams on humanitarian standards, best practices, and operational challenges.
  • Conduct research and analysis on humanitarian contexts, emerging trends, and donor priorities to inform program development.
  • Assist in organizing capacity-building initiatives and training for field staff on humanitarian project management and standards.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian aid or international development, preferably with an NGO or international organization.
  • Proven experience in project cycle management (PCM), including proposal writing, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, international humanitarian law, and various humanitarian standards (e.g., Sphere, CHS).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Korean.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in International Development, Humanitarian Aid, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a field office or in a humanitarian response context.
  • Familiarity with various donor requirements and reporting frameworks (e.g., UN, USAID, ECHO).
  • Knowledge of project management software or tools.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Arabic, Spanish).
