Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to drive real-world change? PwC Switzerland is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Sustainability Program Coordinator to join our growing ESG & Sustainability Advisory team in Zurich. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to significant client engagements, supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of impactful sustainability initiatives across various sectors. As a Sustainability Program Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of our client-facing sustainability projects, from initial strategy development to final reporting. You will work closely with Senior Consultants, Managers, and Directors, gaining invaluable exposure to a wide array of sustainability challenges and innovative solutions. Your day-to-day will involve coordinating project timelines, managing resources efficiently, collecting and meticulously analyzing critical ESG data, and preparing comprehensive reports and compelling presentations for both internal and external stakeholders. You will act as a central point of contact for project-related inquiries, facilitating effective communication and ensuring unwavering alignment on project goals. This position requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a solid understanding of fundamental sustainability principles and established frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD). You will also contribute to thought leadership initiatives, staying abreast of the latest trends in sustainable finance, circular economy, climate change mitigation, and social impact. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of client sustainability projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret ESG data from various sources to support client reporting and strategy development.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal teams and external client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, workshops, and calls, including preparing agendas and documenting key outcomes and action items.
  • Manage project documentation, ensuring all files are organized, up-to-date, and accessible.
  • Support the development of proposals and pitches for new sustainability advisory engagements.
  • Conduct research on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices to inform client strategies.
  • Assist in stakeholder engagement activities, fostering strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Contribute to internal PwC sustainability initiatives and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor project budgets and resource allocation, escalating any potential issues.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in project coordination or program management, preferably within sustainability, ESG, or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of key sustainability concepts, frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs), and reporting standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data analysis and presentation creation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and client-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Fluency in French is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with sustainability software platforms or data management tools.
  • Familiarity with Swiss and EU sustainability regulations (e.g., Climate Law, Supply Chain Due Diligence).
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or a relevant sustainability field.
  • Previous consulting experience with exposure to diverse industry sectors.
