We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tokyo. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and other security appliances.
- Monitor network traffic for security events and alerts, performing initial analysis and incident response procedures.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Develop, implement, and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with network and system administrators to ensure secure configurations of network devices and servers.
- Manage and troubleshoot security solutions, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Participate in security incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and trends, and recommend appropriate security enhancements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network security configurations, processes, and incidents.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members when required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with network security technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, DLP, NAC).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network segmentation.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm, Azure Sentinel) for security event monitoring and analysis.
- Proficiency in administering and securing network devices from vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet.
- Solid understanding of common cyber attack techniques, vectors, and defenses.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CISSP, GIAC, CEH.
- Experience with cloud security principles and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
- Experience in an enterprise-level IT environment or managed security services provider (MSSP).
- Fluency in Japanese (Nihongo) for internal communication and client interaction.
