Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Renewable Energy Project Engineer to join our growing team in Paris, France. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the full lifecycle development and execution of our utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind farms, and battery storage solutions. You will provide critical technical expertise from the initial feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, apply your engineering knowledge to real-world challenges, and contribute directly to France’s and Europe’s renewable energy targets. You will be responsible for ensuring technical integrity, optimizing project performance, and managing a diverse range of technical and regulatory challenges. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments, external contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies, acting as a key technical interface. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the technical aspects of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage) from concept development and feasibility studies through to design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Conduct technical due diligence, site assessments, and energy yield analyses to optimize project layouts and performance.
- Develop and review engineering designs, specifications, and scope of work for contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and internal guidelines.
- Oversee and manage external engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle, proposing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with permitting, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless project integration and successful handover.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, market trends, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders, investors, and regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in renewable energy project development and/or execution (solar PV, wind, or battery storage).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and engineering design tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical grids, power systems, and grid connection requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken) is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., PVSyst, WindFarmer, Homer Pro).
- Knowledge of French and European energy regulations and permitting processes.
- Prior experience working with international project teams or in diverse geographical contexts.
- Familiarity with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) standards in construction and energy projects.
