Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial risk assessments across various domains including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk.
- Develop, review, and validate financial risk models, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice on regulatory change and compliance frameworks such as Basel IV, Solvency II, IFPR, and other prudential regulations.
- Assist clients in designing and implementing robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, articulating complex risk concepts and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Collaborate effectively with client teams and internal BDO colleagues to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments to provide proactive insights to clients.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial risk management within banking, asset management, insurance, or a consulting firm.
- Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and relevant risk management frameworks (e.g., Basel, Solvency II).
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, Python, R, SQL).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (e.g., Master's, MBA) in a relevant field.
