We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chartered Accountant with an ICAN qualification to join our dynamic team in Sydney. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Manage taxation compliance for a portfolio of clients, including income tax, GST, and FBT.
- Conduct audit engagements, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and internal controls.
- Provide expert financial advice and strategic planning support to clients.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Liaise directly with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains for clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Undertake special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
Required Skills
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a public practice accounting firm.
- Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and tax legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proven client-facing experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Australian Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) or CPA Australia qualification (or working towards).
- Experience with audit software (e.g., Audit Assistant, CaseWare).
