As a Construction Site Engineer, you will be deeply involved in various stages of a project, from initial site preparation and resource allocation to supervising construction activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Perform regular quality checks on materials, workmanship, and construction processes, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of project reports, site diaries, and other essential documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and other engineers to resolve technical queries and ensure smooth project flow.
- Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations on site to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Interpret and implement engineering designs, ensuring accurate setting out and level control for construction elements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Participate in site meetings, providing technical input and updates on project progress.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse teams.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to site challenges.
- Demonstrable commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English (verbal and written) is mandatory for effective communication on Dutch project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for review purposes.
- Certifications in project management or construction safety (e.g., VCA-VOL).
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or commercial building projects.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and principles.
