Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning, ensuring accuracy and flexibility.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance assessments to identify key drivers and insights.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, executive summaries, presentations, and dashboards for senior management and various internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform detailed scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate potential financial outcomes, risks, and opportunities under different market conditions.
- Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, alignment with strategic objectives, and adherence to timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with various business units, risk management, and operations teams to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and provide insightful financial guidance.
- Assist in the rigorous evaluation of investment opportunities, capital allocation decisions, and business development initiatives to support strategic growth.
- Identify and interpret emerging financial data trends, proactively providing recommendations for operational improvements, cost efficiencies, and revenue optimization.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and relevant external regulatory requirements.
- Continuously seek and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve financial reporting and analysis processes, leveraging technology where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in financial analysis, with a strong emphasis on financial modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA, pivot tables, and complex financial functions and formulas.
- Strong fundamental understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), accounting principles, and corporate finance concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to dissect complex financial data.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data, draw meaningful conclusions, and present information clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
- Proficiency in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various levels of management and cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA certification or active progress towards CFA designation.
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Prior professional experience in the banking or broader financial services industry, particularly within Mozambique or Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken) is a significant advantage for engaging with local stakeholders and documentation.
- Familiarity with financial data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for enhanced reporting.
