Job Description
MindMaze is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth tech startup environment, ideally with experience in the medical device, digital therapeutics, or healthcare technology sectors. As CFO, you will be the strategic financial architect of our future, responsible for all aspects of MindMaze’s financial strategy, planning, operations, and investor relations. You will play a crucial role in guiding the company through its next phase of growth, including potential fundraising rounds, market expansion, and strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of financial acumen, strategic vision, operational expertise, and a passion for our mission to improve patient lives through neurotechnology. You will build and lead a high-performing finance team, establish robust financial controls, drive data-informed decision-making, and ensure the company’s financial health and sustainability. This role requires not just a meticulous approach to numbers, but also a forward-thinking mindset to anticipate challenges and capitalize on opportunities in a rapidly evolving global market. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the entire executive team, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute MindMaze's financial strategy to support long-term growth and profitability.
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and financial reporting.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation processes.
- Manage investor relations, including preparing for and participating in fundraising activities, due diligence processes, and communications with current and potential investors.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models, metrics, and dashboards to track performance and inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and internal controls.
- Assess and manage financial risks, including currency exposure, liquidity, and operational risks.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and Board of Directors on mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other growth initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Optimize cash flow management and working capital strategies.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee corporate governance and ensure strong internal controls.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CFO or VP of Finance in a fast-growing technology company, ideally with significant startup experience.
- Strong track record of successful fundraising, including venture capital, private equity, or public markets.
- Expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Deep understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), and financial regulations.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing and developing finance professionals.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization, investors, and external partners.
- Experience with international operations and multi-currency environments.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize financial systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional financial qualification.
- Experience in the medical device, digital therapeutics, or healthcare technology sectors.
- Prior experience with M&A transactions and post-merger integration.
- Experience taking a company through an IPO process or managing public company financial reporting.
- Proficiency in French is a plus due to the company's Swiss base.
